Day workshop: Cartoon drawing for trainers and facilitators

Learn how to draw your own 'live' cartoons, and how to develop your own visual metaphors to help get your message across...

This is a hands-on, developmental workshop in which you will learn the fundamentals of cartoon drawing with an experienced professional cartoonist and trainer. It's ideal for people who want to be able to:

• Use the simplicity of cartoons to get across complex ideas and information
• Improvise with cartoons to bring more spontaneity and humour into your facilitation and training
• Design materials that appeal to a variety of learning styles
• Produce entertaining and memorable visual aids, in advance or on the spot.
Discover that you can draw after all, and that you can use drawing to make your communication and training really distinctive and special!

Workshop outline
In the morning session we explore what drawing really is, and why everyone can do it! By the end you will be able to draw your own people and animals, expressions, objects and contexts, and you will have the know-how to develop your cartooning as far as you want to take it.

The afternoon session is about ‘thinking like a cartoonist’ and applying your drawing skills in your work. You will develop cartoon ideas that will be immediately useful to you, and you’ll be able to practice live cartooning within the supportive framework of the group. The group is kept small to guarantee everyone individual attention and constructive feedback.
