Leadership workshop 1:
The language of leadership

Leaders who understand the power of metaphor are able to communicate, inspire and motivate people much more effectively. Current research in cognitive science has discovered that metaphor structures our understanding and experience of the world.

In this workshop participants are introduced to the theory and then given practical techniques for transforming themselves into more effective leaders. Some of the leadership areas we look at are:

• insight – how metaphor can help you understand yourself and others
• engagement – how metaphor can help you get people on your side
• concreteness – how metaphor can make it easier for people to see what you mean by making your language more concrete and less abstract
• simplicity – how metaphor can help you explain complex ideas, services and products
• creativity – how thinking metaphorically can help you foster your own and other people’s creativity.


Leadership workshop 2:
Putting the pictures back into your words
To be a great leader you need to be able to bring people along with you, to inspire them with your ideas, to have them understand and feel involved in your plans. The way you talk and write is hugely infuential, and the key to success here is to understand and use the power of metaphor, especially visual metaphor.

This workshop which will transform the way you communicate, both in writing and in speech, so that people will be inspired by your ideas and your vision.


Leadership workshop 3:
Drawing out your vision
Everyone knows that if you can picture your goal you're much more likely to make it happen. This workshop will guide you through a variety of visual thinking techniques to help you discover and focus your vision, and then we'll give you the tools you need to capture, express and share your vision with others.
